Adding a missing report column

The column I need isn't in the report

Written by Antonio Sierra

Reports carry a large set of columns, but they're spread across four report types and the column picker is long — so the field you want often does exist, just not where you looked first. Here's how to check, and what to do if it genuinely isn't there.

Look for the column

  1. Go to the Reports tab and open your report.

  2. Click the gear icon and choose Manager/Filters.

  3. Search the column list for the field you want. Try a few wordings — fields are often named more specifically than you'd expect.

  4. Add the column, close Manager/Filters, and click Create Report to run it again.

If it isn't in the list, try the same search on a different report type. Bookings carries the widest set of columns of the four, so it's worth checking there even if you normally work from Events or Invoices.

Email columns specifically

Email is the most-asked-about column, and there are several to choose from. In Manager/Filters, look for:

  • Artist Business Manager Contact Email

  • Advancing Email — the contact used for show advancing

These cover most of what people are after when they ask for "the artist's email".

What isn't available today:

  • A single artist-entity email. An artist is often a band with several members and several contacts, so there's no one address that belongs to the artist as an entity. The columns above are the closest equivalents.

  • Counter signer email. The other side's signing contact isn't exposed as a report column.

If that doesn't work

If none of the available columns gives you what you need, tell us what field you're after and what you're trying to do with it — start a chat from the messenger and we'll pass the request on. We can't promise a date for anything that doesn't exist yet, but knowing what you need it for genuinely shapes what gets built.

Good to know

  • Add only the columns you need. A Bookings export with everything switched on can run past 450 columns, which makes for an unwieldy spreadsheet.

  • Save the report once your columns are right, so you don't rebuild the column set every time.

  • If you need a field that lives on a contact rather than a booking, some of those sit in the connected Google account rather than in Gigwell. See the article on exporting contacts.
