API access and AI tool integrations

Can we get API access, or connect Gigwell to an AI tool?

Written by Antonio Sierra

Yes — API access and connector (MCP) access are both available, and they're what you'd use to pull Gigwell data into your own portal or into a tool like Claude, ChatGPT or Notion. Access is enabled per account by our team rather than switched on from your settings.

How to get access

  1. Start a chat from the messenger and tell us you'd like API or connector access.

  2. Say what you want to build or connect, and which user account should have the access.

  3. We'll set it up and walk you through it — there's a short onboarding call, and we'll send the connector setup documentation with it.

This one needs our team, so it isn't something you can turn on yourself or check the status of from inside your settings. If you're not sure whether your account already has it, just ask in the chat.

What you can do with it

Access is read-only today. The available operations are:

  • Organization lookups

  • Roster lookups

  • Report column discovery

  • Report execution

Report execution is the main one — it's how most agencies extract booking and invoice data. Write access isn't available yet.

Developers on your team can work from the public API documentation site for endpoint detail.

If you're getting PERMISSION_DENIED or a 403

  1. Check you're calling a documented API endpoint. Calling internal endpoints with a browser session token isn't supported and will keep failing — switch to the documented API.

  2. Check the operation is one of the read-only operations listed above. Anything that writes will be refused.

  3. Confirm API access has actually been enabled for the user account the call is running as.

If it's a documented endpoint, a read-only operation, and it still fails, start a chat from the messenger with the endpoint, the HTTP method, the status code, and the response body. That's everything needed to diagnose it.

Keep your credentials to yourself

Never paste an API key, token, session cookie or password into a chat or an email — including to us. We never need it, and we'll never ask for it. If you've already shared one anywhere, rotate it straight away and use the new one.

Keys can't be looked up, validated or read back for you, so troubleshooting always works from the endpoint and the error, never from the key itself.

Requesting API access

Available on all plans except Artist Essentials.

  • There is no self-serve API key today.

  • For ticket data, you can use the Eventbrite integration.

  • To request access, tell support what data you need and how you plan to use it; the request is reviewed by the development team.
