Mutually Agreeable Dates allow you to create bookings without selecting a fixed event date. Instead of committing to a specific day, you can mark the event as “to be agreed,” giving you flexibility during early planning stages.
How it works
When the feature is enabled, a new option appears in event date fields:
Click Mutually Agreeable Date instead of selecting a date.
The date field will display “Mutually Agreeable Date.”
An optional + Add Event Date Note field appears (for example, “any Saturday in June” or "any weekend in June.").
The note provides context only and is removed automatically once a real date is set.
Where you can use it
Mutually Agreeable Dates are available in all booking flows where an event date is normally required:
New Booking form
Clone Booking
Events → Basic tab
Edit Event dialog
This feature only applies to actual bookings. It is not available for booking-less (calendar-only) events because those require a fixed date to appear in the calendar.
Reporting
New report columns are available:
Event Date Or Placeholder — shows the actual date or the placeholder
Event Date Placeholder — shows only the placeholder value
Event Date Notes — shows the optional note
Finding bookings with MAD
Use the Has Mutually Agreeable Date filter in the filter bar to find these bookings.
Important:
If an event date filter is applied (for example, “Last week → All future”), these bookings will not appear because they do not have a date. Remove date filters or use alternatives like Last Updated to view them.
Key limitations
Not visible in Calendar: Events without a date do not appear in the calendar view or mobile app.
Itinerary behavior: No itinerary entry is created until a real date is set.
Schedule presets: Preset schedules default to TBA because they rely on a specific event date.
Booking-less events: Not supported due to lack of a calendar slot.
Example
A client wants to book a DJ for June but has not confirmed the exact date.
You can create the booking using Mutually Agreeable Date and add a note like “any Saturday in June.” or "any weekend in June."
Once the client confirms June 14, you simply set the actual date, and the placeholder and note are removed automatically.
Availability
Currently, Mutually Agreeable Dates are controlled via an admin feature flag in the Enabled Features page.
Please contact support if you have troubles enabling it.
