If a contract is already out for signature and you need to change something, retract it first. While a contract is out, Retract Contract is the only action available on the Contract tab — that's how you get editing back.
How to retract and reissue
Open the booking and go to the Contract tab.
Click Retract Contract. The contract is pulled back and is no longer signable at the link your signers were given.
Make your changes — on the booking for deal-specific edits, or in the Google Doc template for wording that applies to every contract.
Save the booking, then click Create Contract (older interface: Create Drafts) to regenerate the document with your changes.
Review the new draft, then send it. Your signers receive a fresh invitation.
If that doesn't work
If the Retract Contract button isn't there, check whether the contract was actually sent — retract only exists on a contract that has gone out. A contract that's still a draft can simply be regenerated and sent.
If the button is there but clicking it returns an error, this one needs our team. Start a chat from the messenger, tell us which booking it's on, and we'll unblock it.
Good to know
Retracting also unlocks Upload Signed Contract, which is how you attach a copy that was signed outside Gigwell.
After reissuing, the History section on the Contract tab lists every version alongside views, signatures and downloads. If a booking looks stuck on "Out for Signature", open History and check how many versions are listed — you're usually looking at a retracted version rather than the current one.
Add your counter signer on the Contract tab before you reissue, so the new document routes to them automatically after the signer.
