AI Connect: Gigwell MCP and API access

Connect Gigwell to Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity, what you can do with it, and how to get access.

Written by Antonio Sierra

Gigwell MCP connects your Gigwell data to AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity. Once it's connected, you can ask questions about your roster, your calendar, your team and your bookings in plain language, and the assistant pulls live answers from Gigwell. API access is also available for developers.

What you can do

Access is read-only today, and write access is coming soon. You can:

  • Look up your organization's members

  • Look up your roster

  • Check artist availability and see what's on your agency calendar (bookings, holds and connected Google Calendars)

  • See which report columns are available

  • Run reports on bookings, invoices, settlements, expenses and tasks, which is how most agencies pull booking and invoice data

Some things to try once you're connected:

  • "Show me everyone on my roster."

  • "Which of my artists are free on [date]?"

  • "What tasks are assigned to me this week?"

  • "I'm meeting [venue] next week. Give me an overview of our history with them and which artists I should pitch."

For dozens more ideas, from availability and unpaid invoices to commissions and conference prep, see the Gigwell MCP prompt library.

Combine it with your other tools

Many tools you already use have their own connectors for Claude and ChatGPT. Connect them alongside Gigwell MCP and the assistant can work across both. For example, with QuickBooks connected too, you could ask "create QuickBooks invoices for this month's Gigwell bookings" or "which Gigwell payments haven't been recorded in QuickBooks yet?" Since Gigwell MCP is read-only, the assistant reads from Gigwell and writes to the other tool.

Who can use it

  • API/MCP access is currently available to agency users with the Owner role.

  • It's available on all plans except Artist Essentials.

  • Access is granted per user. If a colleague has it, that doesn't mean you do.

How to get access

  1. Start a chat from the messenger and tell us you'd like Gigwell MCP or API access.

  2. Let us know which Owner user should have it.

  3. We'll turn it on for you. You'll then see API/MCP access next to that user in Agency Settings → Manage Security.

Connect your AI assistant

Follow the guide for the tool you use:

All three use the same server URL, https://api.gigwell.com/api/mcp, and you sign in with your normal Gigwell login. No client ID or secret is needed. Once you're connected, try the prompt library.

Troubleshooting

  • The connection fails right away: API/MCP access usually isn't enabled for your user yet. Start a chat and we'll check.

  • You're getting PERMISSION_DENIED or a 403 from the API: make sure you're calling a documented API endpoint and that access is enabled for the user the call runs as. Anything that writes data will be refused. If it still fails, send us the endpoint, HTTP method, status code and response body.

  • The assistant shows the wrong agency or missing data: it can only see what your Gigwell user can see. Sign in again with the right account.

Keep your credentials to yourself

Never paste an API key, token, session cookie or password into a chat or an email, including to us. We never need it and will never ask for it. If you've shared one anywhere, revoke it straight away and create a new one. To revoke an assistant's access, remove the Gigwell connector in that tool, or ask us to turn off API/MCP access for your user.
