Requirements
A Google account must be linked to Gigwell before contacts will sync. See How to Link Contacts for setup instructions.
Your CSV file must follow Google's CSV format.
Preparing Your CSV File
You can create a CSV file from scratch or export one from another email provider:
Create a custom CSV file — format your contact data to meet Google's requirements.
Export your address book — export contacts from Outlook, Yahoo Mail, or another provider as a CSV.
Importing Your CSV File
Log in to the Google account connected to Gigwell.
Go to Google Contacts.
In the left menu, click Import.
Click Select File and choose your CSV file.
Click Import.
Troubleshooting Import Errors
Fixing CSV Format Errors
If Google displays an error during import, the CSV file likely has formatting issues. Common causes include:
Missing column headers or incorrect header names
Special characters that aren't properly escaped
Inconsistent row lengths (extra commas or missing fields)
To fix these, edit your CSV file and re-import. Google will confirm the number of contacts successfully imported when the file is accepted.
