How to link to your Google Contacts.

Requirements

  • A Gmail account is required to link contacts with Gigwell.

  • If you need to create a new Gmail account, visit Google Account Signup.

Linking Your Google Account

Gigwell connects to your Google Account to sync contacts and calendar events. Linking your account is required before you can manage contacts or use calendar features within Gigwell.

Connecting Your Google Account

Linking Your Account

  1. Navigate to your Settings page in Gigwell.

  2. In the Contact Settings section, click Link Account.

Authenticating with Google

  1. After clicking Link Account, you will be redirected to Google's sign-in page.

  2. Enter your Google Account credentials and sign in.

  3. Google will display a permissions screen asking you to grant Gigwell access. Make sure both permissions are checked:

    • Contacts — allows Gigwell to read and manage your Google Contacts

    • Calendars — allows Gigwell to access your Google Calendar events

Verifying the Connection

Confirming Permissions

Once you have authenticated and granted permissions, you will be returned to your Gigwell Contact Settings page. Your connected account should now display with confirmation checkmarks for both permissions:

  • Contacts permission granted

  • Calendars permission granted

⚠️ If you do not see checkmarks for both permissions, you may need to disconnect and re-link your account, ensuring you accept both permissions during the Google authentication step.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

"There Is a Problem with Your Integration" Error

If you see this error message, work through the following checklist to identify the issue:

  • Account is linked — Confirm your Google account appears in Contact Settings. If no account is shown, link your account following the steps above.

  • Both permissions are granted — Check that both the Contacts and Calendars checkmarks are visible. If one is missing, disconnect and re-link, accepting both permissions when prompted.

  • Google account is active — Make sure the Google account you linked is still active and you can sign in to it directly at google.com.

If all three items check out and the error persists, contact Gigwell Support for further assistance.

Unlinking & Switching Accounts

Changing Your Linked Google Account

⚠️ Warning: Unlinking your Google account will break your existing contact and calendar mappings. Do not unlink unless you are certain you understand the impact.

When you unlink and connect a different Google account:

  • All contact mappings tied to the previous account are lost.

  • All calendar sync associations tied to the previous account are lost.

  • You will need to reconfigure your mappings manually after linking the new account.

If you must switch accounts:

  1. Review and document your current contact and calendar mappings before unlinking.

  2. Unlink the current account from Contact Settings.

  3. Link the new Google account following the steps in the Connecting Your Google Account section.

  4. Reconfigure your contact and calendar mappings under the new account.
