Gigwell calendars are Google-based, and calendars can't be merged together. You can still see them in Apple Calendar (iCal): add your Google account to iCal, share a Gigwell calendar's iCal address with an artist, or connect the calendar an artist already uses.
Add your Google calendars to iCal
Open iCal on your computer. Click Calendar on the main menu and select Add Account
Select Google then click Continue and log into your Gmail account.
Select Calendars from the list and all of your existing calendars from Gmail will automatically show up on iCal. It can take a few minutes to complete the data sync.
For an artist on Apple Calendar or another app
Your artist doesn't need a Google account for this.
Link the artist's Gigwell calendar as normal at Settings > Calendar & Templates > Calendars.
Open that calendar's settings in Google Calendar from your agency's linked Google account.
Find the calendar's iCal address in the integration settings.
Send that address to the artist.
Have them subscribe to it in Apple Calendar, Outlook, or whatever app they use — every calendar app has an "add calendar by subscription" option.
Their gigs then appear alongside everything else they already keep in that app.
To use the calendar an artist already uses
Ask the artist to open their calendar's sharing settings.
Have them share it with your agency's linked Google address — the exact one shown at Settings > Calendar & Templates > Calendars.
The permission level must be Make changes and manage sharing. Anything lower will not connect.
Accept the share from the linked Google account's inbox.
Reload Gigwell, then link that calendar to the artist.
Bookings then write straight into the calendar they already check, with nothing new for them to adopt.
If the artist can't share at that permission level
The alternative is the Gigwell calendar as an overlay: they keep their own calendar as-is and add the Gigwell one alongside it, either by joining it in Google or by subscribing to its iCal address. Both calendars then sit side by side in one view.
Good to know
Two calendars can't be combined into one. What looks like a merge in most apps is really two calendars displayed together, and that's the approach to plan for.
A subscribed iCal feed is read-only for the person subscribing — they'll see the dates but can't edit the booking from there, which is usually what you want anyway.
