Contract status in Gigwell follows the signing stage, so it isn't something you set by hand. If you sent the contract yourself, or the client signed a copy outside Gigwell, there are two tools for keeping the booking honest: Internal Status while it's in progress, and Upload Signed Contract once you have the executed file.
While it's in progress
Open the booking.
Set Internal Status to whatever describes the real-world stage — sent by email, awaiting signature, with legal, and so on. Internal Status is free-form, so use the wording your team understands.
Leave the contract status alone. It will stay where it is until a signing step happens in Gigwell or you upload the signed file.
When you have the signed copy
Open the booking and go to the Contract tab.
If the contract is currently out for signature, click Retract Contract first. Upload Signed Contract only becomes available once the contract has been retracted.
Click Upload Signed Contract and attach the executed file.
The booking moves past the contracting stage, with the signed document stored on it.
If that doesn't work
If the contract was never issued from Gigwell at all, there's nothing to retract — in that case, the Upload Signed Contract button may not be available yet. Generate the contract on the Contract tab so the booking has one, send or retract as needed, then upload your signed file. If you get stuck, message us from the messenger and we'll get the signed copy attached for you.
Good to know
Invoicing runs independently of contract status, so you can raise and send invoices on this booking whether or not the contract has been marked through Gigwell.
Uploading a signed contract is the cleanest record for anyone looking at the booking later — it keeps the executed document with the deal rather than in someone's inbox.
Internal Status is visible to your team, not to your clients, so you can be as specific as you like.
