When a booking covers more than one artist, you split the guarantee — and the booking fee riding inside it — between them on the Terms tab, rather than creating separate bookings.
How do I split the guarantee between artists?
Open the booking and go to the Terms tab.
Find the Guarantee row.
Click the + next to it. A second line appears.
Enter each artist's share. Add further lines with the + for a third or fourth artist.
Save the booking.
Regenerate your contract, offer or deal card so the documents pick up the split.
The Booking Fee row sits below the guarantee. That's your agency commission, and it's separate from what the artists are owed — it isn't part of the split.
How do I split one payment unevenly between several artists?
When one promoter payment covers several artists on the same booking, you enter the total once and then allocate it per artist. The splits are percentages, and they have to add up.
Open the booking and go to Terms → Offer.
Enter the total guarantee for the booking in the Guarantee field.
Click the + control on the Guarantee row to open the per-artist allocation.
Enter each artist's share.
Save. If the distribution doesn't total 100 percent it won't save — that's the check that stops a split quietly losing money.
The Guarantee is the Artist Fee and the Booking Fee combined, so each artist's share has to include their portion of the booking fee, not just their own fee. Worked through with round numbers: a guarantee of 10000, made up of an artist fee of 8000 and a booking fee of 2000. Splitting it 60/40 gives one artist 6000 and the other 4000 — and each of those figures already carries its share of the booking fee. Don't add the booking fee on top afterwards.
Check the allocation against what each artist's contract says they're due before you save. This drives what each of them is paid at settlement.
Good to know
Splits must total 100 percent. A split that won't save is almost always one that sums to slightly under or over — it's easy to enter shares that don't add up to the agreed guarantee.
One booking means one contract. If each artist needs their own contract or their own invoice rather than a line on a shared one, split into separate bookings by cloning instead of splitting the guarantee row.
Splits show on documents only where the template has a matching variable for them. If the split is on the booking but not on the contract, that's a template question — see the templates and variables articles.
The split divides the guarantee only. Bonuses, buyouts and backend percentages are entered separately and follow their own rows.
If money is genuinely arriving in separate payments rather than one payment being divided, that's a different thing — partial payments against a single invoice aren't supported, so you need one invoice per portion. To invoice only part of one artist's fee rather than split between artists, see the article on invoicing part of a fee.
