Every artist on your roster can be linked to a Google contact. The two share some details and keep each other up to date, so you only have to fix a typo once.
What stays in sync
These fields are shared between the artist and their linked Google contact:
Name
Legal name (the Legal Title field on Basic Info)
Email
Phone numbers
Addresses
How changes are copied
When you save the artist's Basic Info, the changes are copied to the linked Google contact.
When you save the linked contact in Gigwell, the changes are copied to the artist.
A value is only replaced where the other side still has the old value or is empty, so different data is never silently overwritten. Instead, you'll see a warning so you can decide which version to keep.
Example: you change an artist's email from old@example.com to new@example.com and save. If the contact still has old@example.com, or no email, it's updated to new@example.com. If the contact has other@example.com, it stays as it is and the out-of-sync warning appears.
See the linked contact
Click Roster in the top navigation (Artists on Talent Buyer accounts with the venue roster) and click the artist.
In the sidebar, click Basic Info.
The Linked Google Contact panel next to the form shows the contact's name and email.
Team members who can edit the artist can click Unlink in the panel to unlink the contact.
Fix an artist that's out of sync
When the artist and the contact hold different values for a shared field, the panel shows Google Contact not in sync: "Sync to pick which version to keep."
Click SYNC.
The SYNC PROFILE AND GOOGLE CONTACT dialog lists only the fields that differ.
For each field, pick Profile (the artist's value) or Google Contact.
Click SYNC to apply, or CANCEL to leave everything as it is.
The version you pick overwrites the other one. Sync can't be undone, so check each field before you click SYNC. Not sure which version is right? Check with the artist first.
Good to know
Because the two sides copy to each other, an artist's name or email can change after someone edits the linked contact. That's the sync working. If changes keep appearing that nobody on your team made, see Artist names and contacts changing on their own.
